Back in pictures 2018

The 2018 AJCM is over! This edition was a great success with more than 100 participants in Marseille and more than twenty on each site in the Mediterranean.

For those who were absent, or those who are already nostalgic for this day of 14 April 2018, here is a return in image on each site:

  • Marseille, France)

  • Nice, France)

  • Toulon (France)

  • Casablanca (Morocco)

  • Kenitra (Morocco)

  • Rabat (Maroc)

  • Nador (Maroc)

  • Algiers Algeria)

  • Oran (Algeria)

  • Tunis (Tunisia)

  • Gabes (Tunisia)

  • Beirut (Lebanon) / Damascus (Syria – the action was symbolically done in Beirut)

  • Larnaca (Cyprus)

  • Dürres (Albanie)

  • Podgorica (Montenegro)

"Twenty students from the high school “ Petar I Petrovic Njegos”together with their teacher mr. Miroslav Minic, and miss Ana Jovanovic who are members of the Circle of Montenegro, participated in the project “Initiative Ocean “on April 14.2018.
Montenegro has a lot of beautiful beaches and the decision about which beach was going to be cleaned was made not just because of the fact that Bar is the biggest and most populated coastal city, but also because our biggest port is located there. It has 44km of coastline and 9km are beaches. The city of Bar is the only coastal city that has a railroad which connects the northern and central part of the country with Adriatic sea. With its amazing nature understandable is why we picked this city for our project. Petar I Petrovic Njegos high school is located in the central part of Montenegro, in the town of Danilovgrad so we took the train to reach Bar.
Municipalitie of Bar is famous among other things because of its history and because of the olive trees with more than 100 000 that are over 1000 years old.
The begging of our action day was the conversation about the city, its history, tradition, culture and environment. We picked the main beach to clean while using glows, bags and other equipments we brought from Danilovgrad. After 2 hours we took the break where we continued our discussion about the environment, environmental problems and what kind of action they think are right to do locally as well as globally. In the next few hours we cleaned Port and its beach. Sadly, the cleaning was very successful. We collected more then 10 big trash bags where plastic bottle and cans dominated.
In the end, we have had great time which we showed you trough the photos we sent and our wish is to be the part of this project in the years that comes."

[ATELIERS] Back to Images

Upstream of the citizens ' Mobilization Day on 14 April, several on-site workshops were held in Marseille, Nice and Toulon. A good opportunity for young AJCM to approach different themes in a playful and participatory way. These project groups also made it possible to invent the content of the mobilization Day: setting up an information and awareness stand, a creative practice stand or even a sports course… Program to discover soon!

In Marseille, we were greeted by the PACA regional youth Information Centre. We have worked with the youth of the regional Youth Parliament, the United City and the students of the Pytheas Institute on the creation of a friendly day with the setting up of stands.

In Nice, the youth of the local Mission, the association travers le Monde and Unis-Cité met at the first session at Cap Jeunesse Côte d'azur to develop the new graphic design of the poster AJCM 2018. Followed a second brainstorming session on the themes of commitment, sustainable development and citizenship to work on the argument and position. The last workshop will be devoted to the creation of the micro-sidewalk of 14 April.

In Toulon, it was the home of young workers who opened our doors for a first theatrical collective time. The residents of the FJT, the youth of the PRJ (regional Youth Parliament), and Unis-Cité have lent themselves to the game of improvisation. In order to find out what the collected waste actually becomes, we organised a visit to the Véolia waste sorting, recycling and recovery Centre in Seyne-sur-Mer. Thanks to these experiences and the information gathered, the young AJCM wish to create awareness stands and proposals for dramatized mediations. To discover the 14th!

The AJCM in brief

The workshop of young citizens of the Mediterranean is open to all young people aged 15 to 30 living around the Mediterranean. These young citizens of the Mediterranean are committed to the values of solidarity and exchange and are working together to initiate collective action.

Thanks to the support of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'azur region, we will work all year, in partnership with the regional Youth Parliament and other youth structures in PACA, on the realization of a social entrepreneurship action on the theme of eco-development. Our desire is to create a day of citizen engagement in the Mediterranean, which will enhance the various actions and initiatives developed locally around issues of citizenship and sustainable development.

The workshop of the young citizens of the Mediterranean-it's all over again!

After a year of pause, our project AJCM (workshop of young citizens of the Mediterranean) restarts in December 2017.

The workshop of young citizens of the Mediterranean is open to all young people aged 15 to 30 living around the Mediterranean. These young citizens of the Mediterranean are committed to the values of solidarity and exchange and are working together to initiate collective action.

We are organising a collective beach cleaning Day on 14 April 2018 in several territories around the Mediterranean basin. This action will be presented in October 2018 on a day of the youth Initiatives in the Mediterranean where other citizens ' actions in the Mediterranean will also be honoured. Upstream of this media event, several workshops will be set up in each city involved in the process.
