For the last four months, we have been exchanging across the Mediterranean on what it means to be citizens of the Mediterranean. Together, this day, in four working committees, here are our proposals: in the framework of the Commission "living together in the Mediterranean: social solidarity in the Mediterranean, how young people in the Mediterranean are considering the present and their future in common", What are your proposals? We propose:-to develop the exchanges and educational partnerships of the Mediterranean region through a system similar to that of the twinning of cities where schools and universities would help in the learning of languages and cultures. -To set up a Mediterranean "pass" card to promote international travel and exchange for young people aged 16-25 years. In the framework of the Commission "youth engagement: How can young people be actors in their society", what do you propose? We wish to:-organise the spring of high school students each year in a different country from the Mediterranean. -Create a Mediterranean Youth Council which must be a force of proposal to raise awareness of the problems and expectations of young people in the Mediterranean. In the framework of the Commission "expression and digital citizenship: how new forms of communication can facilitate citizen engagement", what are your proposals? We want to:-create a Charter signed by all the countries of the Mediterranean guaranteeing free and total access to the Internet. -Create an official peer forum for a young citizens of the Mediterranean Assembly where we can deal with our daily problems and bring solutions. In the framework of the Commission on intercultural exchanges, mobility supports, what do you propose? We propose:-"better understand to better accept, accept for better coexistence": integrating in a transversal way in the education system and from an early age the openness to the different cultures of the Mediterranean basin. -"Fostering intercultural exchanges": facilitating twinning between Mediterranean countries by creating a new "cultural" Visa, easier to obtain than at present, for young people in the Mediterranean. We, the young people of the Mediterranean, hope that these proposals will retain your full attention!
